Whites close in on 'three in a row'

Corinthians remain on course for ‘three in a row’ in MBL Division One.

The reigning champions strengthened their grip on the title race with a 3-1 victory over Gymns.

Goalless at the break, Sarah O’Reilly, Shannon Groves and Stephanie Hall hit the back of the net for the Whites with the Tromode side replying through an Eleanor Gawne penalty which briefly made the score 1-1.

Douglas Royal bounced back from last week’s derby disappointment with a 9-0 win over Castletown.
Leading 5-0 at half-time, Donna Shimmin (five), Sarah Breen (two) Zoe Hawley and Bekki Cole scored for the Ballafletcher outfit.

Peel ran riot in MBL Division Two, defeating Colby 8-0.

Registering a five goal lead at the break, Nicola Naden (three), Maxine Smalley (two), Nicola Rooney, Kerry Beattie, plus an own goal, found the net for the westerners.

In the preliminary round of the MBL FA Cup, Ramsey beat Rushen United 3-2.

The northerners clocked a three goal lead at half-time courtesy of strikes from Lauren Stoutt (two) and Sammie MacDonald with the southerners replying via Sarah Nelson and Carole Kneen.
