Tynwald members' pension contributions don't need to be phased in.
That's the belief of MLC David Callister.
Later this month, Tynwald members will decide whether to accept the recommendations of the first report of the Standing Committee on Emoluments.
It says contributions towards participation in the Tynwald membership pension scheme should be introduced as a matter of urgency from the beginning of April.
However, it suggests the five per cent contributions should be phased in with a starting level of three per cent.
Mr Callister isn't convinced this is necessary.
