Libraries could have been saved

by isleofman.com 11th March 2012

MLC Dudley Butt says the closure of the family and mobile libraries COULD have been avoided.

Mr Butt was at yesterday's protest at the facility in Douglas, where dozen's of people turned up to express anger at their closure.

He resigned his position in the Department of Education last month in protest at the cuts being made including the closure of the libraries and pre school units.

He believes there were alternatives to closing down the libraries, such as the imposition of tuition fees
