Inspections a 'surprise'

by isleofman.com 7th March 2012

Hoteliers and caterers on the Island have been told to expect unannounced inspections of their employment records.

A notice to this effect was published a few days ago and the inspections came into effect at the start of the month.

Inspectors could be accompanied by other enforcement officers if deemed necessary, including officers from the immigration service and police but it's not known if any inspections have yet taken place.

Theo Fleurbaay from the Manx Hospitality Partnership says the move has come as a complete surprise to him.
