Glenside protest this morning

by isleofman.com 6th March 2012

A protest will take place this morning (Tuesday) over plans to close a residential care home for the elderly.

Unite members affected by the closure at Glenside in Douglas are to protest outside the House of Keys before it sits at 10am.

Last month, social care chiefs announced plans to close the facility by 2014 as part of an overhaul of adult social care to offer more care for elderly people in their own homes.

Regional industrial organiser for Unite, Steve Salter, is hopeful of good support.
