Pre-school protest mums meet Minister

by isleofman.com 5th March 2012

Two mums who’ve been leading protests against the transfer of government nurseries and pre-school classes into private ownership say they remain optimistic the decision could be reversed.

Amy Burns and Linda Morris set up a Facebook group which quickly attracted hundreds of followers after the government announced the cuts.

Last week they met Education Minister Peter Karran and senior department managers to discuss concerns.

Amy says she can understand the need to save money but doesn’t think closure or privatisation is the answer.
