A quarter-of-a-million pounds has been raised by one of the Island's oldest cancer charities in the past year.
The sum was revealed at last night's (Friday) AGM of the Isle of Man Anti-Cancer Association.
Despite a fall compared to previous years due to the economic squeeze, fundraising by local groups around the Island has held up, at ?80,000 for the year.
In the past 53 years, the charity's raised ?21 million, much of it for cancer research projects and treatment centres used by Manx patients.
