Dark and gloomy February

by isleofman.com 2nd March 2012

If you thought February was dark and gloomy, you’d be right - according to the latest Met Office data.

There were just over 51 hours of bright sunshine recorded over the month, a third less than average and the lowest amount of sun for February since 1994.

Figures gathered at Ronaldsway show the month was also slightly wetter than usual but less windy.

The average temperature for February was 6.9 C, more than a degree above normal, while the hottest day – the 23rd – was the second-warmest February day ever at 12.7 degrees.
