Surprise inspections for hotels and restaurants

by isleofman.com 2nd March 2012

The Department of Economic Development is cracking down on hotels and restaurants with a series of surprise inspections.

Inspectors carrying warrants will drop into businesses unannounced to check employment records to make sure firms are staying within immigration and employment law.

The department says they may be accompanied by immigration staff and police officers.

The inspection visits start this month and the new regime will run for at least six weeks.
