Schoolboy hit by car

by isleofman.com 2nd March 2012

A 12 year-old boy has escaped with minor injuries after being hit by a car in Willaston.

Police are appealing for information after the incident in Barrule Road at around 3.25pm on Wednesday.

The schoolboy was crossing the road when he was hit by a dark blue Mercedes People Carrier.

The boy received treatment at Noble’s Hospital and although the injuries he sustained are quite minor, he’s not been well enough to return to school.

The vehicle entered Barrule Road from Ballanard Road and travelled into Willaston Crescent. It’s described as having smoked out windows and silver alloy wheels.

Police would like to speak to anybody who saw what happened and are urging the driver – who they say may not be aware of the incident – to contact them.

The number to call if you can help, police headquarters on 631212.
