DASH chief's concern over service loss

by isleofman.com 2nd March 2012

The head of the Island’s Drug Advice Service and Helpline says she’s worried about the impact the loss of the service could have on those with problems.

The Department of Social Care is withdrawing more than ?100,000 in funding from the charity which provides confidential advice to people with drug problems and their families.

Social Care chiefs say the job can be done more cheaply and the cuts will come in from the end of August.

But DASH’s Director of Services Shelly Stanley says bringing the service under government control could have serious implications.
