Concern over mobile mast

by isleofman.com 1st March 2012

Infrastructure chiefs are being urged to revisit plans to site a mobile phone mast in Onchan.

Approval for the mast on land in the vicinity of West Drive was granted in January, a move confirmed in the House of Keys this week when Infrastructure Minister David Cretney said the application met international standards.

Three years ago a Council of Ministers working group concluded that 'generally' there was no health risk living near to masts.

But Zac Hall, one of three Onchan MHKs, is not so sure and wants more scientific evidence assessed.
