Boat blaze tackled in Castletown

by isleofman.com 26th February 2012

Fire crews tackled a blaze on a boat at Castletown Harbour yesterday lunchtime.

They were called out just after 12.30pm.

The blaze involved a 6.5m pleasure craft and trailer, still coupled to a vehicle, at the bottom of the old lifeboat slip in the outer harbour.

The engine and rear section of the vessel were well alight and fire crews used two high pressure hose reels to extinguish the flames.

No one was hurt during the incident.
