MHK ponders benefit bid timing

South Douglas MHK Kate Beecroft says it's been difficult to judge the right time to launch her bid for a new benefit for people who give up work to care for loved ones.

Her motion in Tynwald which called for the Department of Social Care to examine the viability of such a benefit was approved, but only after amendment by the minister.

It means there's no time frame for the department's investigations.
