by isleofman.com 26th February 2012

A plane crash that killed 35 Isle of Man residents will be commemorated tomorrow.

The 1958 Winter Hill air disaster is regarded as the UK's worst high ground aviation accident.

The plane was flying from Ronaldsway to Manchester when it crashed into Winter Hill near Horwich in Lancashire.

Just seven passengers survived.

Chairman of the Douglas Rotary club's service committee is Howard Callow.

He says the Manx people are still affected by the accident: (play audio clip)

The service starts at 11am at the Winter Hill Memorial in Cooil-y-Ree Park, St. John's.
