Gymns launch great escape

by isleofman.com 25th February 2012

Gymns’ great escape bid is up and running again.

That’s after they defeated Corinthians 4-3 at Tromode to boost their hopes of avoiding relegation in the Canada Life Premier League.

Blane Slattery (two) and Jamie Stoy scored for Corinthians who twice led but it was Gymns who took the points.

That moved them to within two points of Ramsey Youth Centre who were thrashed 7-0 at home by Laxey.

An Ashley Webster hat-trick, a Lee Cowley double and goals from John Callow and Danny Foulis secured the points for the Miners.

St Mary’s had to be patient before breaking down Castletown at the Bowl.

After Liam Doyle’s first half opener, Marc Priestnal and top scorer Steven Priestnal (double) sealed a 4-0 victory for the Saints.
