Push to attract more group visitors to the Isle of Man

by isleofman.com 20th February 2012

A TRAVEL guide which is aimed at attracting more group visits to the Isle of Man has been republished by Isle of Man Tourism.

The guide, which was first published last year, includes information on travelling to the Island, accommodation options and sample group itineraries.

Produced as an A5 publication the 92 page guide also includes maps that pinpoint key areas of interest in the Island's main towns and group drop off points for visitor attractions.

To cater for a growing interest in themed breaks the 2012 guide also focuses on the number of specialist activities, tours and attractions available to group visitors including wildlife tours, boat trips and more adventurous activities.

Geoff Corkish MHK, political member for the Department of Economic Development with responsibility for Isle of Man Tourism, said: "Year round visits by groups are incredibly important to tourism on the Isle of Man which means that the new group travel guide will be a valuable tool in encouraging group travel organisers to consider arranging trips to the Island in the coming year.

"In these challenging times we are keen to send out a message to the groups' market that the Isle of Man is a great value destination on the doorstep of the UK and Ireland."

As part of a drive to attract more group visits to the Isle of Man, representatives from Isle of Man Tourism will attend the Best of Britain and Ireland (BoBI) exhibition in Birmingham on March 14 and 15 where they will distribute the guide.

Copies of the group travel guide can be obtained by calling Julie Colquitt on 01624 686888 or e-mail traveltrade@gov.im. Alternatively it can be downloaded from www.visitisleofman.com.
