App for reporting problems to Department of Infrastructure launched

by isleofman.com 19th February 2012

THE Department of Infrastructure has developed a new website - and an app - to allow residents to easily report problems.

Once a report is submitted it will be sent directly to the relevant department or team responsible for it to be sorted out.

The new site can be found at www.reportaproblem.im which contains the links to the smart phone applications for phones using the Android and Apple systems.

The app simplifies reporting a problem by asking three questions.

The first is the type of defect and the user can choose from a number of different issues such as graffiti, vandalism, traffic lights, pothole, broken water main and many more.

The second question is the location and users can use a map to locate and mark the problem (your phone may help do this automatically).

Users can then use their phone to take a photo of the problem.

The department said the more information it receives the better as it will allow it to prioritise and send the most appropriate team to resolve the problem.

The website and app have been designed to capture routine defects and any urgent defects should always be reported to the department's 24-hour control room on 672000.

Potholes can also still be reported at potholes@gov.im
