The Ben-my-Chree's early morning sailings from Heysham will be half an hour earlier than usual both days this weekend (February 18 and 19), because of unusually low tides.
The service to Douglas will leave at 01.45am on Saturday and Sunday.
The company says the current tidal level in the Lancashire port is 0.5 metres below that predicted, and the decision to bring forward the departure times has been made with the safety of the vessel, its passengers and crew in mind.
The extra 30 minutes will ensure the vessel stays within the limits of her safe 'under keel clearance'.
The Steam Packet Company is attempting to contact all passengers who will be travelling on the affected sailings, to advise them of the change.
