A UK website is appealing for help to save a classic film based on a novel by Manx author Hall Caine.
Alfred Hitchcock's 1929 movie The Manxman will be digitally restored by the British Film Institute, if enough cash can be raised for the work to go ahead.
The movie was shot in the Cornish fishing village of Polperro rather than in the Isle of Man, but the online community at shootingpeople.org hopes Manx support could help save the film.
Sarah Chorley says any size of donation will help the project (listen to audio file below):
Cash donations can be made at justgiving.com/shootingpeople
