by isleofman.com 17th February 2012

THE Island's Home Affairs Minister will be quizzed about the presence of drugs inside the Isle of Man Prison.

Juan Watterson MHK will be asked two questions about the matter in Tynwald on Tuesday.

Onchan MHK Zac Hall has tabled the questions which are for written answer.

Mr Hall wants to know how many prisoner drug tests have been conducted in each of the last five years and how many prisoners have tested positive under the testing programme.

He will also ask what illicit drugs, and in what amounts, have been seized inside the Isle of Man Prison in each of the past 12 months and in each of the past five years.

Mr Hall wants the statistics for both inmates and visitors to the prison.

The February sitting of Tynwald will take place on Tuesday, February 21 at 10.30am. There are 11 questions for oral answer and 27 for written answer.
