Glenside meetings scheduled for relatives of residents

by isleofman.com 16th February 2012

MEETINGS have been scheduled between the Island's Social Care Minister and the relatives and carers of the residents of Glenside residential home.

Chris Robertshaw MHK will hold the meetings to explain the Department of Social Care's decision to close down the government run facility.

It was announced earlier this month that Glenside would be closed by 2014 as part of an overall rebalancing programme which will see government put more emphasis on helping the elderly stay at home.

The meetings will take place at the Glenside resource centre in Douglas. For those residents in the Sweetbriar Unit the meetings will take place on February 22 or 29 at 6.30pm.

For those residents in the Cranesbill and Sea Holly units the meetings will take place on February 23 or March 1 at 6.30pm.
