Packet user agreement still valid

by isleofman.com 15th February 2012

A member of the House of Keys has been told the Steam Packet's user agreement with the Manx government isn't void.

In a written reply to a House of Keys question from Onchan MHK Zac Hall, David Cretney said changes in the ferry company's structure didn't mean the deal had been broken.

Mr Hall had asked whether an extension agreement signed in 2004 was invalid, because the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company Limited had been dissolved.

However, in his reply, Mr Cretney said the company had been re-registered in 2007 and the corporate change didn't affect the agreement.
