Speaker of the House of Keys Steve Rodan says there are no plans to drop the reading of prayers before sittings in the near future.
Last week, a court in the United Kingdom ruled a council was acting unlawfully by having prayers before meetings, prompting calls in Jersey for the practice there to be scrapped before sittings of the island's parliament.
But in the House of Keys, Tynwald and the Legislative Council the tradition is governed by parliamentary rules rather than being set in law.
Mr Rodan says the UK judgement has no bearing in the Isle of Man:
