RESTAURANTS, cafes and coffee shops around the Isle of Man have been invited to register for the Taste Isle of Man scheme.
The quality assurance scheme, which is in its fourth year, is run by Isle of Man Tourism helps visitors and residents choose where to eat out.
The scheme is open to any type of eating out establishment and has 45 members Island wide.
Establishments are independently assessed and awarded either a Quality Assured or Highest Quality Assured accreditation to display on their premises.
An additional Harvest accolade, which is supported by the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture, is also awarded to those who provide and promote the use of local produce.
Geoff Corkish MHK, the political member for the Department of Economic Development with responsibility for tourism, said: "Our aim is to encourage and enrol as many businesses as possible into the scheme to continue the growing provision of outstanding quality and service whilst, at the same time, enhancing the overall visitor experience and improving the year round quality of life for Manx residents.
"The scheme reassures potential customers that they can be guaranteed a good quality experience whenever they see the Quality Assured sign displayed outside the premises.
"Good quality food and drink, and customer service, are key ingredients for both visitors and locals alike and I would encourage anyone wishing to improve their profile to contact Isle of Man Tourism to become a member of this worthwhile scheme."
Registration for the Taste scheme costs £100. All successful venues will be publicised in a directory which is distributed throughout the Island. It is also featured on www.visitisleofman.com.
For more information, and to enrol, e-mail taste@gov.im or telephone 01624 695700. The closing date for registrations is Wednesday, February 29.
