Pictures and stories wanted for music book

by isleofman.com 13th February 2012

The Isle of Man's music scene during a fondly remembered era is to be celebrated in a new book.

Former Manx Radio presenter Andy Wint is currently researching 'Go Mann, Go!' - which is dedicated to the 1950s and 60s.

He says the idea came about after he was involved with an exhibition marking the 40th anniversary of the closure of Radio Caroline North.

Hundreds of photographs were found of local Manx beat groups with the big stars of the day, such as the Rolling Stones and the Moody Blues.

Mr Wint is hoping the Manx public will be able to help him (listen to audio file below):

The book will be published in association with the Manx Heritage Foundation and will be out at the end of the year.
