Improving the dental health of youngsters in the Isle of Man will be the main focus of a children's health event at Ramsey Town Hall today (Saturday).
It's being billed as fun day with a serious message and, among other things, will feature storytelling, arts and crafts, face painting, and a Big Brother style diary room. Important information on oral hygiene, healthy eating and bedtime routines will be available for people who attend.
The Manx government's Oral Health Strategy, released last year, showed particularly poor dental health among those in the under-five age group.
One of the organisers of today's event, Grainne Burns, says children's teeth need to be back in the spotlight (listen to audio file below):
The event is being organised by the Northern Multi-Agency Team, of which Grianne Burns is chairman.
It runs from 11.30am to 2.30pm.
