Glenside closure 'catastrophic', says MHK

East Douglas MHK Brenda Cannell says she is 'more concerned than reassured' for residents of Glenside, despite reassurances from Social Care Minister Chris Robertshaw.

In the House of Keys this week, Mr Robertshaw announced the government run facility was to close by 2014 as part of an Island-wide initiative to offer more care for elderly people in their own homes.

Mrs Cannell says she had already been approached by constituents who were worried about family members who were residents, and says the fact there will be no more admissions is 'catastrophic' for people in Douglas:
