POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a "targeted" attack on a car in Douglas.

A yellow Fiat was damaged between 5pm on Tuesday, January 7 and the afternoon of Wednesday, January 8, while it was parked in a car parking bay near to the Saddle Mews nursing home.

Police say the damage consisted of several separate scratches to the car’s paintwork and a substantial dent to the passenger door.

PC Damien Cullivan explained: "It appears this has been a targeted attack on the vehicle due to the damage being in a number of different areas on the vehicle.

"We urge anyone who may have any information about the incident, or who may have been in the area and witnessed any suspicious activity, to contact the police to help with the enquiries."

Anyone who can help with the enquiry is asked to contact PC Cullivan on 01624 631212 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
