Record breaking ticket sales for TT

by isleofman.com 9th February 2012

RECORD breaking ticket sales for the TT Races have been recorded ahead of this year's event.

Tickets which enable access to the Grandstand on Glencrutchery Road have almost sold out with only limited availability left for Monday, June 24.

There are currently 500 people on the waiting list for Grandstand tickets for Senior Race Day and the VIP hospitality tickets for this day have also sold out.

There are a limited number of VIP hospitality tickets and VIP platinum package tickets left for the remaining three race days but platinum tickets for June 2 and June 8 have sold out.

Tickets for the newly introduced "fan zones" at five locations around the TT course have also sold well with some selling out with more than three months to go.

Geoff Corkish MHK, political member for Isle of Man Tourism, said: "We have had a huge increase in demand for the TT Races confirmed with visitor numbers up and early sales for grandstand tickets higher than they have ever been.

"We are also revisiting areas such as the day trip market and practice week TT 'taster' packages and we are attracting new visitors to the event who are keen to experience this unique spectacle and the Island itself at first hand.

"There is no doubt that the TT's global status continues to grow."
