THE energy company developing the Irish Sea wind farm zone will hold a number of public exhibitions in the Island this month.
Representatives from Centrica will visit the Island to speak to members of the public about the work that has been carried out so far and the work that will happen in the future.
Centrica was awarded the exclusive rights to develop wind farms within the Irish Sea zone in January 2010.
In the past two years Centrica has carried out various studies and stakeholder consultations to identify areas within the zone that could be suitable for wind farm development.
According to Centrica this research will help identify potential development areas within the zone which will then be taken through the planning process.
Laura Jeffs, head of renewables development at Centrica, said: "Whilst the development is at a very early stage we're committed to consulting from the outset with the public and other interested parties.
"The information days will provide people with the opportunity to meet us, learn about what we've been doing and find out more about the development process."
The dates and times of the exhibitions are as follows:
Ramsey Town Hall – February 21: 2pm – 8pm
Scoill Phurt Le Moirrey, Port St Mary – February 22: 2pm – 8pm
The Strand, Douglas – February 23: 2pm – 8pm
Java Lounge, Douglas – February 23 – 6.30pm to 8.30pm
