Library to close in mark of respect to former staff member

by isleofman.com 9th February 2012

THE Henry Bloom Noble Library in Douglas will be closed tomorrow afternoon (Friday) as a mark of respect to a former colleague.

Staff from the library will be attending the funeral of Sharon Scott – a long serving member of staff who died on January 31.

Miss Scott had worked for Douglas Borough Council for 23 years and was a "much valued member of the library team".

A spokesperson for Douglas Council said: "She will be sadly missed by her library colleagues and all at Douglas Borough Council who are united in wishing to convey their heartfelt condolences to Miss Scott's mother, family and friends."

The council has apologised for any inconvenience that the library's closure may cause but have asked members of the public for their "forbearance" at this time.

The library will re-open as usual on Saturday from 9.15am to 4pm.
