Government warned to 'avoid UK caring chaos'

Doubt has been cast on plans to introduce major changes to the Isle of Man's social care system.

It follows the news the government-run Glenside Resource Centre in Douglas will shut by 2014 as part of an Island-wide initiative to offer more care for elderly people in their own homes.

Union head Steve Salter says local health chiefs should look at similar schemes in the United Kingdom before firming up any proposals:
