MHK 'staggered' by social care strategy

The politician whose question in the House of Keys sparked an admission that a residential care home in the Isle of Man is to close says he is preparing for another battle.

Bill Henderson was speaking after it was revealed the government-run Glenside Resource Centre in Douglas will shut by 2014.

It's part of an overhaul of adult social care in the Island, which is expected to save around ?3 million over the next four years.

Mr Henderson, who successfully opposed a similar plan four years ago, says he is 'truly staggered' with the approach social care chiefs are taking:
