Henderson backs moves to protect Island's reputation

A backbench MHK has added his support after the chief minister vowed to refute ‘ill informed’ comments about the Island.

Bill Henderson says he applauds the actions of Allan Bell, who's recently rebutted critical remarks made by UK Labour leader Ed Miliband.

Mr Milliband called for tax reforms in Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man, claiming the UK could be losing as much as ?2.4 billion because of the tax systems in the Crown Dependencies.

Mr Henderson says such inaccurate assertions about the Island are potentially very damaging:
