Island hosts British trials championship

The opening round of the British Sidecar Trials Championship takes place in the Isle of Man today (Saturday).

The Andy Smith Trial starts from the car park near the Tynwald Inn in St. John's at 9am and has attracted 24 crews, including ten from the United Kingdom.

The route for the chairs begins with stages at Knockaloe and ends at Ballaspit.

Clerk of the course Ian Murphy says picking a winner from the field isn't easy but he believes a visiting father and son may claim the top step:
