Mayor to stand in Council election

by isleofman.com 2nd February 2012

Mayor of Douglas Richie McNicholl says he's enjoyed his 19 years as a councillor and very much wants to continue.

He is to stand in the upcoming local authority election.

Mr McNicholl will be up against Bill Malarkey and George Campbell in Murray's Ward.

There's guaranteed to be at least one new face after long-serving councillor Jim Mitchell announced he wouldn't be seeking re-election in April.

The ward's other representative, Helen Callow, is yet to reveal whether she will stand or not.
