Coastguard team rescues man from cliff face

AN injured man was rescued from the bottom of a 170ft cliff on Marine Drive in the early hours of this morning (Wednesday).

 

A coastguard team from Douglas was scrambled at 1am after reports of an injured person on the cliffs at Little Ness.

 

On arrival the team found the man at the foot of the cliff and two coastguard officers descended to assist him.

 

They treated the man for hypothermia and other injuries before he was airlifted to Noble's Hospital in an RAF helicopter.

 

No further details of the casualty have been released.
