Inquest of Douglas man to resume

The inquest of a Douglas man found hanging in a stairwell will resume this afternoon (Wednesday).

Chef Stephen Anthony Dowling, 47, was found by police in his King Street apartment in Douglas last September.

He was taken to Noble's Hospital but was unresponsive and died a week later in the Intensive Care Unit.

Doctors gave the cause of death as brain damage due to asphyxia caused by hanging.

Mr Dowling’s inquest will resume at Douglas courthouse at 2pm.
