Home Affairs Minister Juan Watterson says anybody with any worries about fire safety can contact the fire service for advice.
His comments come after it was revealed 328 rental properties in the Isle of Man had failed to meet stringent safety regulations.
Mr Watterson says the department is working with landlords and tenants to make sure all properties are safe, although persistent offenders could be prosecuted.
