Public warned over faulty microwaves

by isleofman.com 28th January 2012

MEMBERS of the public who own a SANYO microwave have been advised of a potential fault with some models.

The Isle of Man Office of Fair Trading has said a possible defect has been discovered in microwave ovens with the model numbers EM-C8787B UK2 and EM-C8787W.

Any microwave ovens with these model numbers have the potential to leak electricity which may potentially cause a severe electric shock.

The affected microwaves were manufactured from February 2012 and were sold in the UK from March 2010 until January this year.

Members of the public who have a SANYO microwave should unplug it to locate the model number and serial number.

If it is one of the affected models you should stop using it immediately, unplug the power cord and contact SANYO on 08009 230019 (freephone) or 01923 477351 between 9am and 5pm.

A full refund will be given to anyone who has purchased one of the affected microwaves.
