Rates frozen in Castletown

by isleofman.com 24th January 2012

Castletown commissioners say they have managed to avoid putting up rates this year.

At their meeting last night (Monday) they voted not to levy any increase on residents, keeping the rates at 320p in the pound.

They say the freeze is thanks to efficiency savings within the local authority.

But they are warning increasing charges from government are making finances difficult to balance into the future.
