THE costs of employing a Tynwald Commissioner for Administration are being looked into, the Chief Minister has said.
Allan Bell MHK answered a question from Douglas South MHK Kate Beecroft (Liberal Vannin Party) on the matter in the House of Keys this morning (Tuesday).
She wanted to know when the appointed day order would be made for the role.
Mr Bell explained the Tynwald Commissioner for Administration would be a fully independent, non governmental official who would resolve complaints about the delivery of public services.
Royal assent for an act relating to the position was announced at the Tynwald sitting on October 18 last year.
Mr Bell said: "The Chief Secretary's office is working closely with the clerk of Tynwald to identify an analysis of the operational details and potential costs for the establishment of the post of commissioner.
"Once the potential costs have been identified consultation would have to take place with the Treasury on the affordability criteria and budget allocation for establishing the office."
