Hacker attack question from Zac

by isleofman.com 23rd January 2012

The House of Keys is to find out whether businesses in the Isle of Man have been targeted by hackers.

Onchan MHK Zac Hall will ask Economic Development Minister John Shimmin how many times denial of service attacks have taken place against the government or businesses on the Island in the last five years.

The attacks happen when hackers flood websites with internet traffic, overloading them.

In his question, for written answer at the sitting tomorrow (Tuesday), Mr Hall will also ask about the estimated cost to the economy over the same time period.
