Private terminal by the autumn

by isleofman.com 23rd January 2012

The company behind a new private jet terminal at Ronaldsway says it's confident the project will help attract new business investors to the Isle of Man.

The Private Jet Company has begun work on its Business Aviation Centre, offering dedicated facilitites for executive passengers and private jet crews.

What's being described as a 'new gateway' to the Isle of Man won planning approval last autumn and, after a setback due to bad weather, foundations are due to be laid next month.

The new aviation centre will be located within the runway protection zone, towards the northern end of the airport, and will be completely separate from the main airport complex.

The Private Jet Company says in offering secure private hangarage, elegant meet and greet areas and extensive crew facilities, the new development will be a dramatic improvement on current arrangements for private aviation at the airport.

Contractors Island Drainage have begun ground works, moving more than 10,000 cubic metres of soil for the terminal and dedicated apron.

Foundations will be laid in February with the steel for the building due to arrive in March.

The project's finish date is set for late summer this year.
