The use of outside consultants by departments of the Manx government and public bodies is likely to come under intense scrutiny, after the current bill for their services was put at just under ?12 million.
The figure was given in Tynwald, when Speaker of the House of Keys Steve Rodan asked for a detailed breakdown of all consultancy firms currently working on government projects.
During Tuesday's sitting, Chief Minister Allan Bell reiterated his call for a change of culture within government, to ensure public services are run cost effectively and waste is minimised.
Now, the Positive Action Group is calling for a change of approach over the use of consultants.
