Police trying to trace vehicle carrying unsecure load

by isleofman.com 19th January 2012

POLICE are "anxious" to trace a vehicle which was seen carrying an unsecure load in the south of the Island this morning (Thursday).

At 8.40am an iron rod which was being transported by a white truck fell out of the vehicle hitting a parked car.

The incident happened near to Arbory School and police have said that although no damage was caused to the car it was lucky that no one was injured.

The driver of the truck – which is described as white with an open back and a coloured emblem on the side – failed to stop at the scene and continued his journey towards Colby.

A police spokesperson said: "Police are anxious to trace this vehicle, and the driver, and would like to emphasise that when carrying loads in open trucks or trailers that the contents should be secure so that no damage or injury could be likely from debris or items being thrown from the vehicle."

Anyone with information which could help identify this vehicle is asked to contact PC Lou Kennaugh at Castletown Police Station on 01624 822222.
