by isleofman.com 17th January 2012

Twice World Supersport champion Andrew Pitt has announced his retirement from racing at the age of 35.

The Peel resident suffered a shoulder injury last year and it hasn't healed sufficiently to allow him to compete at the top level.

Announcing the news on Twitter he posted: 'So that's it, now officially retired has a strange ring to it. Lots of memories .... bring on whatever is next. First stop Adelaide TDU'.

Pitt won his World Supersport titles in 2001 and 2008.
