Schoolgirl wins Christmas card competition

by isleofman.com 17th January 2012

A SCHOOLGIRL girl from Douglas will see her winning Christmas card design rolled out across the Isle of Man later this year.

Eden Wood, 6, of Manor Park School won first place in a Christmas card competition organised by Crossroads Caring for Carers.

Previously the charity's Christmas card was designed by a local artist but Crossroads' decided to commission a second card and asked children to submit their designs.

Eden's design - which depicts the three kings offering gifts to baby Jesus - will be made into the charity's official 2012 Christmas card and will be sold to raise money for carers in the Isle of Man.

As a reward for her efforts Eden was presented with a giant cuddly toy yesterday (Monday).

A spokesperson for Crossroads Caring for Carers said the competition had received a number of entries "all of which showed great promise for the charity's card".

Eden's Christmas card will go on sale in the Isle of Man in October.
