Fletcher arrest warrant issued

by isleofman.com 16th January 2012

Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes has issued a warrant for the arrest of a man who failed to appear for sentencing today (Monday).

Jonathan Fletcher, of Saddlestone, had been convicted of harassing former member of the House of Keys Bill Malarkey and, on a separate charge, of harassing advocate Hazel Smith.

The court heard he sent a number of emails to Mrs Smith between May and June last year.

The prosecution described the messages as disgraceful.

Fletcher was ordered to appear at Douglas courthouse today, but Mrs Hughes was told he had emailed police explaining he would not be present.
